You will begin your tour with a 3:00 a.m. pick up from your hotel and travel to Chivay. There you will have breakfast and depart for the “Cruz del Condor”. There you will awe at the breathtaking view of the majestic condors, which soar above one of the deepest canyons in the world. You will then stop for 20 minutes at another vista point, San Miguel, which offers the best view of Colca Canyon. Next, the four-hour descent into San Juan de Chucchu begins. Upon reaching this point you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. After a rest, you will continue your journey, passing through small towns and appreciating the region’s flora and fauna, until you arrive to the ‘Oasis’, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast, the day starts off with three-hour hike uphill to the town of Cabanaconde. You will then head to the vista point “Antahuilque” where your guide will give further history of the mountains and local area. This is a great opportunity for pictures. Following this, you will take a shuttle back to Chivay. Here you will have the option to unwind in the medicinal hot springs of “Calera,” which range between 36°C and 39°C. Arequipa Tour

Arequipa is home to the spectacular Colca Valley. Seemingly carved directly out of the Andes, Colca Canyon is regarded as one the deepest canyons on earth. The Cruz del Cóndor vista point is a superb location to observe the flight of the condor (Vulture Gryphus), the largest bird on the planet. This two day trip gives you the opportunity to hike one of the most spectacular trails in Peru. The depths of Colca Canyon below, the condors overhead, and the agricultural terraces built generation after generation by the ancestors of modern day Peruvians will all serve to make this an unforgettable trip. This history of the region is fascinating in its own right, and you will have the unique experience of coming face to face with the famous mummy- “The Lady of Ampato” (know today as “Momia Juanita,”) discovered in the volcano of the same name. You will campy under the starts and enjoy local food around the fire. Type: Cultural. Length: 2 days, 1 night. Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Group size: 2-9 participants. Season: Everyday.
