This Yoga retreat offers you the opportunity to practice Yoga using the Sivananda style, with an experienced and professional Yoga practitioner in the Sacred Valley.

You will stay at a beautiful guesthouse in the Urubamba area, surrounded by lush gardens and areas to relax. There is a space for Yoga and mediation inside and outside in the grounds. Your leader has a smaller studio, which is used for massages and other personal therapeutic services, such as muscle mapping and in-depth chakra work. The Yoga classes last for a period of 1 hour and involves a combination of postures, breath work and relaxation. Previous experience of Yoga is not essential. In the mornings and the evenings you have the option to participate in meditation with devotional chants, mantras and readings of the teachings of Sivananda. Your leader is open and welcomes discussion on spiritual development and will always make time to talk to individuals if requested. Make sure you utilise the stunning grounds and meditate. Relaxation and mindfulness is encouraged at all times during this retreat. You will sleep in simple but relaxing and warm room- offering hot showers.

Day 1: Arrival, free time, yoga class, meditation

You will be collected from your accommodation in Cusco and drive to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, visiting some stunning and sacred archaeological complexes and views on the way. You will be taken to the guesthouse to settle in and lunch in the garden will be provided. In the afternoon you will have a welcome session, followed by chance to chat with your retreat leader. You can take the time to explore the surrounding area or rest. There will be late afternoon/ early evening Yoga session followed by a fresh dinner. At night you will have a meditation session, where your leader will focus on devotional chants and mantras. There is the opportunity to be led through a session on your chakras. You can enjoy fresh herbal teas and music by the fire. You will spend the night in private rooms in the guesthouse.

Day 2: Free time, yoga class, meditation

After breakfast there will be a short Yoga and mediation session. You have an opportunity for your leader to do some muscle mapping and chakra work. Later you can relax in the beautiful grounds or take a walk in the local markets for fruit. In the afternoon a shaman (supported by your leader) will lead a sacred ritual giving thanks to the Mother Earth. You will be taken to a spot further in the mountains, where you will build a small fire and offer various products to the mountains. The shaman will bless you with sacred water also. This is a very peaceful and magical ceremony- surrounded by snow capped mountains and impressive views. In the late afternoon you will be offered a Yoga class and after dinner there will be meditation in the garden by a bonfire.

Day 3: Departure

Following a relaxed breakfast, there will be a Yoga and meditation session before you begin your journey back to Cusco.
